A conidium (plural conidia) is an asexual chlamydoconidium or chlamydospore. It is actually a non-motile, asexual spore of a fungus. The word conidium is derived from the Greek word "konis", meaning dust. They are also termed as "mitospores" as they are generated through the cellular process of mitosis.
