Complement is a complex of 30 protein or more that act in an arrangement to get the body rid of infectious microorganisms. Particularly, complement system is responsible for causing lysis (bursting) of infected and foreign cells, inflammation of the surrounding tissue and the phagocytosis (ingestion) of cell debris and foreign particles.
