Inactive form of a repressor protein; the repressor becomes active when the corepressor binds to it.

Aporepressor Notes:
Aporepressors are inactive protein repressors; however, once they combine with specific corepressor, they become activated and inhibit the gene transcription. This inhibition of transcription is a homeostatic mechanism that regulates the repressible systems of enzymes.
