Epigenetic inheritance Definition:
Inheritance of traits transmitted by mechanisms not involving the nucleotide sequence itself is called epigenetic inheritance.

Epigenetic inheritance Notes:
Epigenetic inheritance is a remarkable discovery and it goes against the idea that inheritance happens only through the DNA code or the information carried in DNA sequence that passes from parent to offspring. It means that a parent's experiences or any changes done to DNA besides the sequence, in the form of epigenetic tags, can be passed down to future generations. these changes include methylation or acetylation of nucleotides that may turn on or off a gene.
