Cell differentiation Definitions:
Cell differentiation is the process by which cells become specialized in structure and function.

When a cell or group of cells becomes committed to a particular fate, they are said to be differentiated.

Cell differentiation Notes:
Cellular differentiation is the process where a cell changes from one cell type to another. Usually, the cell changes to a more specialized type in the body for example a specialized insulin producing cell. This differentiation or specialization occurs especially during the development of a multicellular organism as it changes from a simple zygote to a complex system of specialized cell types and tissues. Cellular differentiation is the biological procedure where a cell changes from one form to the other. Normally the cell would change to a more specialised cell. Differentiation occurs many times during the development of an organism throughout its lifespan. This variation continues in adulthood as adult stem cells divide and create fully varied and specialised progeny cells during usual tissue turnover. Sometimes antigen exposure also triggers differenciation.
