RT PCR Definition:
Transcriptase polymerase chain reaction amplifies a region which is present on RNA by first converting it in to complementary DNA.

RT PCR Notes:
Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) is a laboratory technique combining reverse transcription of RNA into DNA (in this context called complementary DNA or cDNA) and amplification of specific DNA targets using polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The RNA sample needs to be converted first in to cDNA before it can be amplified as RNA is highly unstable on its own.
