Lysogenic cycle Notes:

Lysogeny, or the lysogenic cycle, is one of two cycles of viral reproduction. Lysogeny is characterized by integration of the bacteriophage nucleic acid into the host bacterium's genome or formations of a circular replicon in the bacterial cytoplasm. The viral genome incorporated in this manner is called the prophage and the host cell and the viral genome coexist in this manner. An example of this is the temperate phage.
