Allele Notes:

Alleles are the variant or alternate forms of a gene. Mostly genes consist of two alleles. One of the two alleles is recessive while the other one is dominant. However, different genes may have more than two alleles. In a heterozygous organism, two alleles are present, one is dominant other is recessive and only the dominant one is expressed to give a phenotype.
