Model organisms Notes:
A model organism is any species that is not human and is comprehensively studied to understand biological processes. This is done with the hope that findings will help understand the working of other similar organisms too. These model organisms are widely used to research human disease because experimenting on humans is not ethical and unfeasible too. This strategy is made possible because all species have a common ancestor and therefore many pathways and genetic makeup is conserved.
