Taguchi Method Notes:
Taguchi method is an approach that aids in identifying the inputs and determining the appropriate levels of the inputs which are required for producing a product or service. Different tools are used in the Taguchi method. The most important tool is design of experiment (DOE). It involves qualitative identification of the parameters and their optimal levels to produce a high quality product or service. Taguchi method is based on four design perspectives, robust design, concept design, parameter design and tolerance design. The Taguchi method provides a foundation for determining the relation between control factors and outcomes, optimizing the levels of control factors, determining the relation between product variability and random variation in the process.
