Quality at Source Notes:
A product recall procedure starts with notifying the customers of the particular product's dangers. A quality manager segregates the market regarding product recalls and takes necessary steps for an efficient recall process. A public relations officer communicates the need for recall within the organization, to the regulatory authority and the customers. The production process employees test the defective products and identify the nonconformities so that the decision regarding the defective products could be made (Remanufacture or disposal). Recalls also incur costs which are calculated by the accounts/finance department. Without the green signal from the upper management, the product recall procedure cannot be initiated so the top management is responsible to approve the product recall based on all the facts and data.
