Using SWOT analysis, threats can be identified. The threats have a negative effect on the organization and the project carried out by the organization. An organization or a project can face both internal and external threats. These threats must be eliminated or reduced in order to reduce their effect. Threats can be dealt with using different strategies. One of them is called risk avoidance. As the name indicates, risk avoidance strategy refers to the elimination of a particular threat/risk and protection of the project or part of the project from the effect of that risk. This can be done for the project risks that have high likelihood of occurrence and can have very high negative effect on the project. Project objective that is most likely to be affected by the particular risk can be modified or changed to avoid the risk.
