Customers define their requirements of the project. These requirements must be translated to the acceptable deliverables by the project team. Based on the type of deliverables, projects can be divided into a number of types, out of which, one type is material projects. The deliverables of material projects require maintenance and services throughout their life cycle. The term used for this process of maintenance is called logistic support. Two variables are involved in logistic support. One of them is called readiness. In general, readiness means to be fully prepared to do something. Readiness refer to the ability to make the system perform according to the plan. It also considers the maintenance and repair needed to keep the material system operational.
