A written communication tool that is used throughout the project to communicate project related information is report. One of the report type is a final report. Project final report is usually prepared at the completion of the project and shows the project summary. It is not prepared by adding up all the progress reports. Final report does not include bit-by-bit story of what happened during the project, rather it gives an overall idea of how well the project went. Some topics that are considered when preparing a project final report are customer's actual needs, Actual/planned project objective, customer's requirements, comparison of actual and anticipated results, degree to which the objective was achieved, description of the project, future considerations, deliverables provided to the customer, and the criteria based on which the customer accepted the results of the project.
