Directing is a function of management which must be performed by a project manager. Project team members need guidance throughout the project. Many different steps are involved in the directing function. One of them is counseling. Counseling is a psychological term and the concept is used to help the project team members to work efficiently, and resolve any issues that arise during the work. Counseling involves giving advice to the individuals. Sometimes, project team members need professional help as they get stuck in their work or their overall work career. A project manager must be able to help them get through the situation using counseling.
