Escalation Notes:
When the SWOT analysis of the organization is performed, some threats are identified. These threats can affect the organization at all levels. The projects associated with the organization also face internal and external threats and these threats must be eliminated or reduced. Different strategies are used to deal with the threats. One of them is called escalation. As the name indicates, the strategy of escalation is used when the identified threat is beyond the scope if the project or the recommended response goes outside the project manager's authority. These types of risks are then dealt with at organization level rather than on project level. It is the responsibility of the project manager to communicate the escalated risk to the appropriate owner of the risk so that it can be managed and controlled.
