Scope Baseline Notes:
Before starting the project, the scope of the project must be defined. A document that can be used to define the scope of the project and the associated activities is called scope baseline. A scope baseline can only be changed and modified through formal procedures. A scope baseline is usually used for comparison of the project's progress and to identify any changes in the project's progress from the plan. Scope baseline is a part of project management plan. The key components of a scope baseline include scope statement (deliverables, constraints, assumptions etc.), work breakdown structure (decomposition of all the work associated with the project in a hierarchical manner), work packages (lowest level of work breakdown structure), planning package, WBS dictionary etc.
