The activities and tasks associated with the project are decomposed hierarchically in a work breakdown structure. A supporting document to the work breakdown structure that describes the activities, related deliverables, and schedule of the activities in detail is called work breakdown structure dictionary. Some of the information in a WBS dictionary is added when the work breakdown structure is developed, however, additional information is written about the components of work breakdown structure at later stages of the project. Key elements of a WBS dictionary are code of identifier, work description, assumptions, constraints, responsible organization, required resources, milestones, cost estimates, quality requirements, acceptance criteria etc.
