Scatter Diagram Definition:

Scatter Diagram Notes:

A scatter diagram is a graphical representation that shows the relationship between the variables. Usually two variables are considered in scatter diagrams. Scatter diagrams are used in the quality management process of the project. Scatter diagrams can be used to determine the indicator variables of the project. By taking quality defect on one axis and any specific element of the project on the other axis, relationship between them can be established. First, the variables to be used in the scatter diagram are identified. The data of the two variables (dependent variable 'x' and independent variable 'y') is gathered. The gathered data is plotted on a 2D plane. Based on the plot, the relationship between the two variables can be determined.
