Control Resources is the process of ensuring that the physical resources assigned and allocated to the project are available as planned, as well as monitoring the planned versus actual utilization of resources and taking corrective action as necessary.

The resources needed to carry out the project are allocated by the project manager. However, the allocated resources must be according to the plan. The process of ensuring that the resources are assigned as per planned is called control resources. Control resources process enables to monitor if the resources are assigned at the right time and allocated to the right tasks. This helps in efficient utilization of resources. The process of control resources should be performed throughout the project life cycle. This process is related to the allocation and monitoring of the physical resources needed in the project (equipment, material, and infrastructure etc.).
