Different project management knowledge areas must be addressed to carry out a successful project. A group of processes used to initiate, plan, smoothly execute, monitor and close the project are called process groups. One of them is closing process group. The processes involved in closing process group deal with the formal closing of a project or a contract. This process groups is associated with the completion of the processes in all the other process groups. When processes in other process groups are completed, the processes in the closing project group are performed. The major aim is to close the project, phase or contract appropriately with all the required documentation. The processes in this process group also deal with the cancelled or aborted projects.
