Predecessor Event Notes:

Generally, a predecessor event refers to an event that immediately precedes the next event without any intervention. A predecessor event has to be completed before the next event starts. In the activity on arrow format of network diagram, a circle represents an event which shows the start and finish of an activity. An event at the start of an activity i.e. at the tail of the arrow is termed as a predecessor event. Predecessor event shows the sequence of the activities. For example, for car washing, event 1 is the start of the activity 'wash the car', and event 2 is the end of the same activity then event 1 is considered as the predecessor event of the activity 'Wash the car'.
