Successor Event Notes:
Generally, a successor event refers to an event that immediately follows a previous event without any intervention. A successor event is dependent on the completion of the previous event in a diagram. In the activity on arrow format of network diagram, a circle represents an event which shows the start and finish of an activity. An event at the end of an activity i.e. at the head of the arrow is termed as a successor event. Successor event shows the sequence of the activities. For example, for car washing, event 1 is the start of the activity 'wash the car', and event 2 is the end of the same activity then event 2 is considered as the successor event of the activity 'Wash the car'.
