Controlling Notes:
One of the responsibilities of a project manager is controlling the project. It involves tracking the actual progress of the project and comparing it to the planned one in order to identify any defections. An efficient way to do this is to design a project management information system. Through the information system, all the members of the team can easily track their tasks and regularly provide their progress and incurred costs. This information is then compared to the planned one by the project manager. If he/she identifies that the actual performance lags behind the planned performance, immediate action is taken by him/her.
