An information system is a computerized system that is used for easy communication of information across the organization. Information system can be developed for the whole organization or for a specific department of the organization. It involves accepting data as input, processes the data accordingly, and gives outcome in the form of information that is required by the users of the information system. Examples of information systems include computerized inventory system, billing systems, order entry systems etc.
