Critical Path Method Notes:
Usually network diagrams for large projects are complex and involve a large number of activities. A network diagram consists of different paths from start to end of the project. The activities of each path have different time durations. The longest path in terms of total time is called critical path and the activities in the critical path must be completed in order to complete the project on time. A critical path method tries to determine the time duration of the activities on the critical path (the minimum time required to complete a project) and determines the flexibility in the project schedule. The earliest start and finish and the latest start and finish times of the activities are calculated with taking into consideration the limitations of the resources in order to check the amount of time the project can be delayed and still be on schedule (i.e. timely completed).
