Total Elapsed Time Notes:

When a project is divided into the associated activities and tasks, not only the sequence of the activities is established but also the estimated time for each activity is determined. While calculating the estimated duration of an activity, it must be kept in mind that in addition to the actual task, sometimes waiting is also involved in a particular activity. Adding both i.e. the actual task time and the waiting time provides the activity duration which is also called total elapsed time (involves the waiting time). For example, in painting a room, the elapsed time of this activity will be the total time required to paint the room plus the time required to allow the paint to dry (waiting time).
