Latest start time (LS) is the latest time by which a particular activity must be started in order for the entire project to be finished by its required completion time.

Latest Start Time Notes:
Projects are divided into their associated activities and tasks using work breakdown structure. After that, network diagrams are developed to show the sequence and relationship between the activities. The duration of activities are also estimated using network diagrams. Network diagram is used to calculate the latest start time of an activity. Latest start time, as the name indicates, shows the latest time on which an activity must be started in order to complete the project on time. For calculating latest start time, latest finish time and the activity duration that is estimated by the team are considered. Subtracting both the terms i.e. latest finish time and estimated activity duration, latest start time of an activity can be calculated.
