As the name indicates, a project type organization undertakes external projects. Each project has its own team and a project manager. Appropriate resources i.e. material, equipment and human resource are assigned to the projects. Employees of a project type organization are hired on the basis of their expertise to a specific project. However, the employees can be reassigned to a new project when needed. A project type organization sometimes act cost-inefficient. The sharing of knowledge among team members of different projects is minimum as project teams are usually isolated so that they can focus on their own projects. Project type organizations normally carry out large projects i.e. high money and long time period.
