To provide comfort to the project manager and upper management of the organization, project management softwares are introduced. These softwares allow the project manager to perform all the necessary steps invovled in the project life cycle with more efficiency. A feature that is avalaible in the project management softwares is called project portfolio management. This feature is used when multiple projects are run by a project manager. Project manager has to manage multiple projects at the same time. Portfolio management includes issue management (electronically note the issues in projects), knowledge management (experiences of previous projects to be used in new projects), and multiple project management which includes saving information and details of all the ongoing projects in separate files and creating charts and network diagrams for the projects who are carried out simultaneously.
