Dominant allele Definition:
An allele that expresses itself even in heterozygous form.
Campbell Biology by J.B. Reece, L.A. Urry, M.L. Cain, S.A. Wasserman, P.V. Minorsky, R.B. Jackson
Dominant allele Notes:
An allele that has a dominant characteristic and it has the ability to express itself even in a heterozygous form. For example the allele for dark eyes is dominant that the one for light eyes. Therefore if one parent has light or blue eyes and one parent has black eyes, it is much likely that the offspring will have dark eyes since the dark gene is dominant than the light gene.
