Choleragen (also called cholera toxin and often abbreviated as CT, CTX or Ctx) is secreted by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae. It is an AB5 multimeric protein complex. Chloragen is the culprit behind the massive, watery diarrhea during the cholera infection. It belongs to the Heat-labile enterotoxin family.
