Heterozygous Definition:
An organism that has two different alleles for a gene is said to be heterozygous for that gene.

Heterozygous Notes:
Heterozygous is a diploid organism when at a particular gene locus has two different alleles (one wild-type allele and one mutant allele) of a gene. Each copy of the gene came from each of the parent. The cell or organism is called a heterozygote specifically for the allele in question, and therefore, heterozygosity refers to a specific genotype which codes for a specific type of phenotype.
