The modern trend of developing strong relation with suppliers has resulted in selecting a few suppliers to work with. This is due to the fact that quality improvements now play a major part of an organization's performance. The quality of a product also depends upon the raw material. So the suppliers must also be the part of a firm's quality management system. After a supplier is selected, periodic audits must be performed to monitor its performance. This not only monitors the performance but also helps in performance improvement of the supplier which ultimately improves the product quality.
