Scatter Diagram Notes:
Scatter diagrams consider two variables and identify relationship between them. The relationship determines the indicator variables in an organization. Scatter diagrams are very easy to make. For example, if an organization wants to know the relation between conformance to specifications and prevention cost, it may develop scatter diagram. Four steps are involved in drawing a scatter diagram. First of all, the variables are identified. Variables are independent variables (denoted as x) and dependent variables (denoted as y). The data regarding the dependent and independent variables are gathered. Then the data is plotted on a two dimensional plane. Finally, plotted data is observed to determine the relationship between the variables.
