Histograms are also bar graphs like frequency charts. The difference between the two is that frequency charts show categorical data while histograms use the continuous numerical data. Histograms are very simple to make. The width of the histogram bars are determined by class widths/class intervals. Some rules must be observed when making a histogram. First of all, bar widths should be consistent as each bar contains a single class so class widths are same. The classes used for the histogram should be mutually exclusive and all-inclusive. A rule to determine the number of classes used for histogram is 2k ? n.
