DMAIC Notes:
DMAIC is a quality improvement process which involve five phases; Design, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control. In the design phase, the process/project is identified, selected and defined. Usually an expert is involved in this phase. The next phase is the phase of measure which involves understanding the process first and then selecting the outcomes of the process. The critical characteristics of the process are then measured. The third phase is analysis. In the analysis phase, the data related to the project/process are gathered and analyzed. The steps involved in this phase are defining the objective, identifying variables and analyzing sources of variation. Offline experimentation is done in the Improve phase while control charts are made to keep the process under control in the control phase.
