The resources needed to carry out a project efficiently must be identified and acquired. Different activities and tasks of a project need different resources. Just like the activities and tasks are decomposed to the lowest level using a work breakdown structure, same is the case with resources. Resources for a project, when represented in a hierarchy gives resource breakdown structure. Resources are broken down on the basis of the category and type.
