Lead Notes:

While scheduling a project's activities, it is important to understand the relationship between the activities i.e. the dependencies. Schedule and dependencies are closely linked to completion time of activities and ultimately, the overall project's successful and timely completion. The activities can either be accelerated or delayed during a project accordingly. The amount of time for which an activity can be accelerated with respect to the activity prior to it is called lead. Lead is a very important concept in project network diagrams. Lead basically shows the overlap of two activities. For example, if activity B is started when activity A of the project is half-finished, the amount of time by which activity B is advanced is called lead. Lead is added as a negative value.
