Proximity Notes:
When the potential risks associated with the project are identified and assessed, the most important factors to be considered are the chances of occurrence and risk impacts and effects. However, sometimes, other risk characteristics can also be considered in the risk assessment process. One of these characteristics is proximity. Proximity refers to the time which a potential project related risk takes to affect the project or organization after it has occurred. It is important to understand that some risks take more time to impact while others take less. So the corrective actions must also be planned according to the proximity of the potential risks. A short time period of impact for a project risk leads to high proximity.
