When an organization focuses on quality management. Some costs are incurred. These costs are called costs of quality. The parts of quality management; quality control and quality assurance incur costs in order to make sure that the produced items are according to the specifications and the processes are stable. One type of quality cost is called prevention cost. As the name indicates, prevention costs are the incurred cost for preventing an error or defect in a product. The activities that are used to ensure that the quality defects at all levels do not occur and prevent the occurrence in the first place give the prevention costs. Examples of prevention costs include cost of training the worker, cost related to supplier survey and selection to acquire quality material etc.
