As communication is a key part of successful project management, it must be done in an effective way. Just like communicating your opinions and ideas to others is important, listening to others is also important. However, listening must be effective. Effective listening relates to understanding what others say. If effective listening is not a part of communication process, the cause of communication is not fulfilled. Effective listening process may face some barriers that include distractions, biasness, closed mindedness, impatience etc. To make the process of listening effective, the person who is talking should be focused on, questions must be asked to show interest, interruption should be avoided and feedback must be provided during conversation.
