In a project schedule, relationship between the project related tasks and activities must be developed. However, the relationship between the activities must be logical. While defining relationships, two concepts of predecessor and successor activity is to be understood. Predecessor activity is the one that logically comes before an activity in a schedule while successor activity is the one that comes after an activity. Different relationships can be established between the activities. One of them is called finish to start (FS). Finish to start is a logical relationship which shows that a successor activity cannot be started unless the predecessor activity is finished. For example, displaying the posters of an event (successor) cannot be started unless the printing of the poster (predecessor) is finished.
