Traffic Light Reporting System Notes:
When a project is carried out, the performance must be monitored so that it can be controlled whenever a variation from the plan takes place. The status of the project must be reported periodically using status reports. A status report is used to track the progress of the project. There are different types of status reporting systems. One of them is called traffic light reporting system. Traffic light reporting system, as the name indicates, uses the three colors of the traffic light signal i.e. red, yellow and green to report what is going on within the project. One of the three lights can be lightened by the project manager to report the status. The red light shows that a problem has occurred in the project which must be fixed. The yellow light shows that an issue may occur in near future and preventive action must be taken. A green light shows that the project is progressing as planned.
