Allosteric Enzyme Definition:
An enzyme whose activity is altered by the non covalent binding of a small effector (allosteric effector) at a regulatory site separate from the catalytic site; effector binding causes a conformational change in the enzyme's catalytic site, which leads to enzyme activation or inhibition.
