Ascomycetes Notes:
Ascomycetes are the structures where spores are made within the asci (microscopic cells). The asci may have spherical or cylindrical shape. Usually, one ascus can contain up to 8 spores. Few species can contain one spore per ascus while other species can have hundred spores per ascus.
