Triplet code Definition:
Genetic instructions for a polypeptide chain are written in the DNA as a series of nonoverlapping, three-nucleotide words called the triplet code.

Triplet code Notes:
The standard version of the genetic code, in which a sequence of three nucleotides on a DNA or RNA molecule codes for a specific amino acid in protein synthesis. In other words, the genetic instructions for a polypeptide chain that are written in the DNA as a series of nonoverlapping, three-nucleotide words is called the triplet code. It is called codon if its present on the mRNA molecule.
