Primary transcript Definition:
Initial RNA transcript from any gene, including those specifying RNA that is not translated into protein, is more generally called a primary transcript.

Primary transcript Notes:
The initial transcript made by transcription is called as the primary transcript. It is still in its naive or immature form and need to undergo some processing before it is considered a mature mRNA and can be translated. Most important changes in the initial transcript involves splicing out the introns and keeping the exons. Exons are the sequences which will be later translated int o proteins.
