Peptide bond Notes:

When the carboxyl group of one amino acid reacts with the amine group of another amino acid, a peptide bond is formed. A peptide bond is an amide type of covalent chemical bond linking two consecutive alpha-amino acids from C1 of one alpha-amino "acid" and N2 of another along a peptide or protein chain. This bond is what holds the amino acids in place which subsequently form the proteins.
