Some of the fungal infections that can be treated by this drug are blastomycosis, coccidioidomycosis, aspergillosis, cryptococcosis and candidiasis. Sometimes amphotericin B is combined with flucytosine to treat some infections. This combination is injected into a vein. Streptomyces nodosus produces amphotericin B.
